HONG KONG MARU Class Auxiliary Transports and Gunboat

(HONG KONG MARU, prewar)

This class consists of HONG KONG MARU only, completed in ‘36 for Osaka Chosen K.K. (OSK) as a 2,797-tons cargo liner. She was requisitioned in Nov ‘41 by the IJN, converted the following month to an auxiliary gunboat and torpedoed and sunk by an unidentified submarine in Jun ‘43.
